About ResDiary

The history

ResDiary was founded in 2006 by Mike Conyers, a successful Scottish restaurateur. Frustrated at paying large amounts each month for systems to poorly manage his reservations, he decided to build his own system. The company began with a staff of two under the name Restaurant Diary in Glasgow, Scotland. 

Globally recognised

Now the business is still based in Glasgow, although the company was purchased by Accor Hotels in 2018. The software is used by over nine thousand business in six continents. Millions of covers are booked monthly, using ResDiary applications, via venue websites, APIs, social media and 3rd party sites. In addition, the consumer-facing platform, www.dishcult.com, receives hundreds of thousands of visits per month. This allows ResDiary-powered venues increased online exposure and extra bookings as part of their flat-fee package.

Forward thinking

A truly dynamic system, ResDiary continuously adds new capabilities according to the needs of its users. Recent software releases including features such as integrated pre-orders, yield management, function enquiries and iPad apps have put ResDiary at the forefront of the industry. in 2020 as a response to the pandemic ResDiary Lite was released. A lighter version of the product to help venues  that had no previous need to, begin to take online bookings, and safely manage their capacity.

Commission free 

In following a commission-free model, ResDiary has become a true disruptor in the hospitality reservation space. The fixed pricing structure means operators can push bookings to their venues without worrying about unpredictable costs, allowing for clearer financial forecasting. In this way, ResDiary is one of the only reservation providers that acts as a partner to businesses, rather than as an online travel agent.

A trusted partner 

The service is a trusted supplier of the Houses of Parliament restaurants and the Royal Opera House. Michelin star chefs Martin Wishart, Simon Rogan and Tom Kitchin are also amongst the many independent operators and high-profile groups who trust ResDiary to power their reservations.

ResDiary provided enterprise solutions to Dimmi (a Tripadvisor company) and Qantas in Australia from 2014-2021, as well as to the Accor Hotels Group globally. 

ResDiary has team members and licensees representing the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, France, Denmark, Norway, Canada, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Dubai, Portugal, Uruguay and South Africa.
