From emergency funds and HR advice, to training support and mental health care, we’ve rounded up some of the charities and initiatives that are currently providing aid to those in the hospitality industry. 

Hospitality Action is a charity taking action to support the hospitality industry. They are currently accepting donations and applications for their COVID-19 emergency fund (these were put on hold as there was a huge influx of applicants, keep an eye on their Twitter for updates on when it reopens). The money raised will enable Hospitality Action to make a one-off award to eligible workers facing hardship during this time

Drinks Trust is the UK drinks industry charity. They provide urgent mental health support to those in the drinks industry, and raise vital funds. To get help  from them, or to support them in their efforts, visit their site.

Tip Jar is an easy to manage, transparent tipping platform. They’re working with Hospitality Action to create a fund for hospitality workers suddenly plunged into hardship. They have local funds that can be donated to as well if you want your money to go to workers in your area.

HOSPOLive is a social media community made for connecting, upskilling & inspiring hospitality workers during coronavirus isolation. Everyday is packed with free content broadcasting from 08:30-17:00. If you like yoga, fitness, wellness, training sessions, interviews with inspirational hospitality figures, and live cooking segments, then this is the place to be.

U.K Government advice – Grants for businesses affected by the COVID-19 crisis are available. Applications are to be sent to your local authority and payments to businesses should be made within 10 working days. Find out more information.
