FT/PT:This role is full time and permanent.

Location:This role can be carried out remotely, or from our Glasgow head office (or a combination). If remote, then occasional travel to our Glasgow office will be required approximately once a month. Temporarily due to Covid restrictions this role will be fully remote.

Dish Cult is a new venture pairing food – curious diners with restaurants. The app brings everything you need together, recommendations tailored to the customer, latest industry news, chef bios, new openings and much more. Dish Cult has already taken New Zealand by storm and is being brought to the Australian and UK markets this year.

About the role


Our newly created Content Lead role will be responsible for content creation (and editorial content strategy) of our exciting new consumer brand Dish Cult in the UK market.

You’ll capture and create authentic, relatable stories and pair these perfectly with exciting digital print, video and visual outcomes.

 

About You


You’re passionate about all things dining: and you’ll tap into existing industry connections (or seamlessly develop relationships) within the restaurant & hospitality industry.

You’re flexible: This role will involve agility towards the changing needs of a sector challenged this year, so creativity and quick reactions are key.

You’re collaborative: You’ll be working with teams across the world, from different cultures and backgrounds and all with individual and collective goals. You can communicate effectively and confidently with stakeholders at all levels.

You’re a Digital Expert: You have ideally worked in an online editorial  environment, and have a demonstrated history of delivering positive results through technology and digital communication means.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, execute and deliver editorial content across all UK channels, working closely with the team (including product managers, commercial team, marketing team) and freelance contributors to ensure we publish engaging, popular content.
  • Create & maintain an editorial calendar
  • Develop the UK content strategy & KPIs (alongside the leadership team)
  • Contribute to the creation of style guides and editorial guidelines and procedures as part of the content strategy
  • Drive & execute local SEO strategy, and tracking & report on key metrics
  • Keep current on key food & lifestyle trends, and update the content strategy accordingly
  • Recruit & manage a team of freelance contributors, including briefs, calendars, and feedback
  • Negotiate pricing and schedules with vendors and freelancers.
  • Manage content distribution to internal and external channels (press materials, website, and social media platforms)
  • Contribute to social media channels with engaging, original content
  • Ensure that quality and brand standards are upheld
  • Work closely with growth & marketing team to promote & develop content marketing ideas
  • Work closely with the global product & technology teams, ensuring user feedback is incorporated into the product requirements
  • Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting & insights to the leadership team, on the performance of content across multiple platforms & channels

Experience and expertise required:

  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in an editorial content role, with a portfolio of work to show productions of self-developed content
  • Experience working independently, as this role will be part of a larger international team
  • Excellent knowledge of digital best practices, the culture and language of the web, including SEO
  • Experience, or relevant experience in creating food & lifestyle content
  • Strong expertise in content strategy and able to lead editorial content campaigns
  • Strong research and planning skills
  • Structured approach, eye for detail and ability to manage deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of creative and visual storytelling
  • Experience working in photo & video production
  • Experience using a Content Management System
  • Experience in digital analytics
