Finance and Administration Support Assistant

A Finance and Administration Support Assistant is required to join our Glasgow city centre office based Finance team.

This is a permanent role with potential to work between 25 and 35 hours per week (Negotiable).

Package: Basic remuneration up to £19,000 pa (Pro-Rata based on less than 35 hrs where applicable) subject to experience. 5% company pension contribution, private healthcare and life assurance benefits are applicable after the initial probationary period.

About the Role
You will report directly to the Head of Finance to support and assist the Finance team with Financial Processing, Sales Ledger, Credit Control and Purchase Ledger duties. 

Responsibilities

  • Purchase Ledger duties including set up of invoices, obtaining authorisation from the budget holders and sending out supplier statements.
  • Processing Bank account and credit card feeds and obtaining valid receipts for all credit card transactions.
  • Allocate GoCardless direct debit receipts to the correct debtor balance and daily bank reconciliations.
  • Invoice creation and other Sales Ledger tasks as set by the Credit Controller.
  • Assist with the production of the quarterly VAT return.
  • Financial transaction processing and journal posting as required

You are self motivated, a team player and a problem solver. You’re enthusiastic and flexible in a varied job role and are able to provide a professional and responsive service to both internal and external customers..

Experience

This role would be suited to an Accounts Assistant with 2-3 years experience in a similar role. Experience of working with Xero accounting software is desirable but not required as full training will be given. Attention to detail is important, together with the ability to communicate well and work closely with both your team, and key members of our HR, Sales and Training teams.
