ResDiary Academy launched as 91% of operators admit to digital knowledge gaps

Online reservation system, ResDiary, this week launched the ResDiary Academy to empower operators with the tools now needed to manage a hospitality business. The move comes in response to a customer survey showing 91% of restaurateurs feel they could improve their digital knowledge.

The survey, taken by a cross-section of restaurants across the UK and Europe revealed 90% of operators felt keeping up to date with digital tech was vital for their business operations. However the majority of these operators had areas that they felt they needed to improve on, with 35% looking to brush up on search engine optimisation and 30% saying they could improve on their social media knowledge.

The ResDiary Academy will attempt to bridge this gap in understanding, providing free resources for restaurateurs to take control of their digital strategies. It will provide a comprehensive and free guide to negotiating the technology needed in the electronic age.

With 25% of operators admitting they would like to expand their knowledge on email marketing and 28% stating they’d like to know more about till system options, The ResDiary Academy offers insight into these topics. The ResDiary Academy offers downloadable guides on email marketing and information on other types of software that can assist operators.

Mike Conyers – Founder and CEO of ResDiary commented; “We’ve gotten to the point where it’s almost impossible to run a venue without electronic systems and an online presence. Some venues just don’t have the time or resources to train staff in digital technology and it’s something that we want to help with.”

Conyerss added: “One of my main goals when I founded ResDiary was to empower restaurants to create their own digital opportunities through our system. With the ResDiary Academy, we’re strengthening our original goals, giving operators access to an absolute wealth of information on marketing and software. Previously, most of these guides would have been part of a paid-for feature, but with the rise of initiatives like Google Garage and now The ResDiary Academy, this is no longer the case.”

 

Contributions include industry insights from Tevalis EPOS and Nudge CRM. Irish hospitality guru Anthony Beale will also be running webinars for operators, focusing on maximising reservations and increasing brand knowledge.
